Hello - many thanks for your reply.
I am predominantly trying to use WIndows Media actor. Simply I take as well tried the Windows DVD app and also DVD maker and they wont play in them either.
All recent video I have (in MP4 format) work fine.

Information technology appears that I no longer have the Windows DVD player app that I had in Windows 7 - where might this have vanished to ??
I still cannot find a media role player that volition play my .VOB files for free. :-(
